Although there is a great deal about the brain that we do not yet know, what we do know can be used to understand our behavior, as well as our sense of self and ultimately even influence the direction of human cultural evolution. Dr. Gordon’s paintings use metaphors of the Brain and Self, and symbols that reflect core brain dynamics to push beyond the limits of traditional brain science, bringing the realms of the unconscious to the canvas. As part of the exhibition, there will be excerpts from the documentary Brainstorm by award winning documentary filmmaker Pat Fiske and Executive Producer Steen Rees; BrainArt paintings by five children from around the world; and a multilayered musical exploration Brain Sound Scape, by renowned composer Mal Green. When he is not painting, Dr. Evian Gordon is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychological Medicine at The University of Sydney, Australia. He is the current Scientific Chairman and Founding Director of the Brain Dynamics Centre (BDC) at Westmead Hospital, and is also the CEO and Chairman of the Brain Resource Company (BRC).Presentation by Dr. Gordon:“The Brain Revolution: Creativity and Why Brain Development Should be a Human Right”Location: Tribeca Cinemas Gallery54 Varick Street, New York, NY MorePREVIOUS EVENTThe Impact of Brain Function on the Concept of CriminalityNEXT EVENTSpirituality and the Brain
