David A. Jopling, DPhil

David A. Jopling is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at York University, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His research interests include the philosophy of psychology and psychiatry, early modern philosophy, and cognitive science. He has published articles on the concept of self, self-knowledge, phenomenology, and cognitive science. His books include: Talking Cures and Placebo Effects (Oxford/New York: Oxford University Press, 2008), Self-Knowledge and the Self (New York: Routledge, 2000), and The Conceptual Self in Context: Culture Experience Self Understanding, edited by U.
