Parashkev Nachev, Ph.D.

Dr. Parashkev Nachev is an Honorary Lecturer at the Institute of Neurology at University College London, and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Neurosciences and Mental Health at Imperial College London. He is also a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Academic Clinical Fellow. Professor Nachev was educated at the University of Cambridge and at the University of Oxford, and completed his postgraduate training at Hammersmith Hospital in London before receiving a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Imperial College London. He has published numerous research articles in the field of cognitive neuroscience in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and has presented his research findings at scientific conferences.

Dr. Nachev’s current research interests include the neural basis of voluntary action, the conceptual analysis of neuroscientific thought, the anthropology of neuroscience, and oculomotor prosthetics. Dr. Nachev is a member of both the Cognitive Neurology Laboratory and the Neuro-Ophthalmology Research Group at Imperial College London, and collaborates with the Oculomotor Research Group of the Department of Clinical Neurology at the University of Oxford, studying the neural control of eye movements both in health and disease.
